What is Expats Give Back About?
Expats Give Back is a platform founded to provide free mentoring to early and mid-career nationals looking to be mentored by expats living in their home country and for the expats to give back to their host nation. It was founded by Muralee Kanagaratnam in 2019 as a way to give back to the Singapore community that welcomed him with open arms. It has grown to a community with thousands of mentors and mentees across the globe.

Muralee Kanagaratnam (MK) Founder & CEO
Muralee Kanagaratnam is a technology executive leader with over 20 years of experience leading and scaling global businesses across Asia Pacific, China, India, Middle East, Africa and South America. He has held senior leadership roles at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Schneider Electric, and Adobe, driving technology adoption, digital transformation, and business growth in high-impact industries.
As the Founder & CEO of Expats Give Back, Muralee has built a global mentorship platform that bridges expatriate industry leaders with local professionals, fostering career acceleration, workforce transformation, and cross-cultural collaboration. Under his leadership, the initiative has expanded worldwide, backed by government bodies and industry leaders.
Born in Sri Lanka and having lived in Australia and Singapore, Muralee is deeply passionate about giving back and creating opportunities for others. His personal journey of navigating new cultures and professional landscapes has fueled his commitment to mentorship, philanthropy, and social impact. Through Expats Give Back, he is dedicated to empowering emerging leaders, fostering diversity, and driving sustainable career growth in communities worldwide.
